The Town Clerk’s office is a local resource for all dog licensing issues. All dogs 4 months or older are required to be licensed. License renewals, license tag replacements and dog redemptions are provided through the Town Clerk’s Office.

The Town Clerk is responsible for:

Attending all Town Board meetings and preparing official minutes of those meetings

Having custody of all Records, Books, and Papers of the Town

Filing Local Laws and maintaining Code Books

Maintaining an official signboard for posting of legal notices and other documents

Administering Oaths of Office to Officers and Employees, and Justices of the Town, and Fire District Officers of the Town

Issuing Dog Licenses, Veteran Discount (FAVOR) cards, Hunting Licenses, Federal Duck Stamps, Fishing Licenses, Dog Licenses, Marriage Licenses and certified transcripts, Bingo, Games of Chance, Raffle and Bell Jar Licenses, Handicap Parking Permits, Trash Hauler licenses, Sales of Zoning books and maps, and NYS Thruway E-ZPass permits

Providing Notary Services to the public
The Town Clerk’s office is a convenient location for NYS fishing, hunting, trapping, bow hunting, muzzle loading, turkey permits, lost licesnses and lifetime sporting licenses. Licenses are also available for purchase through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation at www.dec.ny.gov. Marriage licenses and transcripts are available during normal business hours BY APPOINTMENT. Please call to make an appointment and information.
The fee for a marriage license is $40 and anyone previously married MUST FURNISH A COPY OF THE DIVORCE DECREE or a death certificate. Please bring a current form of identification from the following list below:
- Driver’s license
- Non-driver’s license with picture
- Passport (valid) for identity purpose only
- Naturalization papers, only original papers are acceptable
- Military I.D.
- Employer’s photo I.D.
AND a Birth Certificate with a raised seal or a Baptismal Record

As a precaution to residents, please be advised that while driving, parking permits should not be displayed from your rear view mirror as you may be ticketed for “obstruction of view”.
Anyone wishing to see or get copies of any Town of Lysander documents must utilize a FOIL Request form (Freedom of Information). The Onondaga County Board of Elections has now taken over the election process. If you would like information regarding your voting district, you may call the Onondaga County Board of Elections: 315-435-3312, or visit their website: www.ongov.net/elections. For your convenience, voter registration forms are available at the Town Clerk’s office.
“Blue” Bins are no longer being provided by Onondaga County for collecting your recyclable materials. For more information on recycling, contact the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency, or contact your trash hauler.
Brush and Yard Waste - The Town does not pick up brush and yard waste. Disposal of this material can be taken to the closest OCRRA site at 6296 Airport Road, Camillus, NY 13209. For hours and fees please contact OCRRA at 315-453-2866 or visit their web-site at OCRRA.org.
Electronic Recycling - The Town of Lysander offers FREE drop off of the following electronic equipment, Monday thru Friday, during regular business hours at the Town of Lysander Highway Department Office located at 2730 West Entry Road:
